A very complex job here, first to reveal the original pattern from the thoroughly broken original pane of glass! Then to cut and polish many complicated engravings, complete with the original owners name.
Finally, with the help of my friend David Adrian Smith, the glass panel had to be kiln “slumped”, heated whilst suspended over a steel mould until the glass could become malleable and “slump” under its own weight into the shape of the steel mould. An extremely nerve wracking process, but a fine result which the customer was very pleased with!
you can see the curvature of the glass, rising above the table top.
